Last night just before sunset, I emerged from the subway to discover that all of New York was lit by this vibrant color of rose gold.
I’d been inside (in air conditioning!) at a church meeting, working with an exciting and insightful group of people to apply design thinking as we create our strategic plan. There were many God-moments at that meeting, but the most powerful one happened after the meeting.
The light just before sun set was so stunning that I went to the roof of my building for a better view. After I took this picture, I did something I hadn’t done in a very long time: just sat and watched the sun go down.
Sometimes it feels that we only pay attention to the rhythm of the earth when we complain about the weather. There’s something holy and majestic about just sitting in witness to it, especially in the middle of the city.
