I cannot tell you how often coaching clients are working towards something, and a better opportunity comes out of left field. But I can tell you it is not random.
Here’s how I think about it: They are on a path through, say, a forest. They have decided where their destination is, and that this is the path they should take. They’re walking along, and as they walk along, they build their strength, and they figure out how to prepare, and they gain all these skills. They come over a little hill, and off to the left is a way better path.
They never would have seen that path if they hadn’t already been walking the first path. They just wouldn’t be there.
The better opportunity comes because you’re on the path.
Because people have seen your momentum and they think of you for the next opportunity. Or, you have already been on the path, so you have the skills to take advantage of the new, way better paths.
I just wanted to share this analogy with you because it’s happening all the time. If you’d like to get started on a new path, set up a free 25-minute exploratory call here.
