Isn’t it funny the things we end up missing because of the Coronavirus? What is one thing you took for granted and now miss?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here’s mine: I love to run into people when I didn’t expect it. I love it so much that I’d list it as one of my “favorite things” when the situation called for a list of favorite things. I love Diet Coke, show tunes, a temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit, and unexpected mini-reunions. ⁣⁣

Sometimes the unexpected sightings were a quick hello. Sometimes they extended into entertaining catchup sessions. Sometimes they were in the most unlikely places and made a great story. Sometimes they turned into a renewed relationship, a lead for my business, tickets to a show, or a way I can help someone else.

Often it felt like God put them there right when I needed them. Daily run-in’s with friends and acquaintances made the hustle and bustle of New York City feel like an interconnected small town where I was known. Other random rendezvous around the country have reminded me that my community is everywhere.

Maybe even a few brought me closer to my calling. ⁣

We are all a product of our community, and the network of people I run into both in New York City and around the country are an important part of how I define myself. I miss my larger community.⁣
⁣⁣
So even though there aren’t so many new people in my path right now as we all socially distance, I’m considering who God already put in my path, and what that may mean for the next chapter of my calling. ⁣
