I’ve been knee deep in editing Season Two of “A Dairy Tale,” a web series I co-created with my friend Joe.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Editing is near the end of a long process in which we discuss possible story lines, secure shooting locations and actors, create scenes based on the resources we have, and then improvise a number of takes.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
While we shoot our scenes, everyone knows the goal of the scene but no one has specific lines. Watching the takes during editing, it’s fascinating how we can find so many paths to the same conclusion. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
It’s also fascinating how adding or removing various lines create entirely different impressions about the intentions of the characters. In fact, Joe and I always find ourselves adding a line or two in post-production to fill a gap or clarify an intention. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
So what if that is happening in life? You thought you knew what happened, but one or two lines weren’t said, or you didn’t hear them, and you’ve carried the wrong assumption for years. And you’ve let that assumption govern the way you view yourself or the world or your place in it. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
How are your old stories holding you back? How is your imagined future propelling you forward? Is it time to rewrite a few of them?⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Want help? I have a few openings for free 25-minute coaching sessions.  Let’s rewrite your story into something full of hope and purpose by letting go of a few assumptions. ⁣

Oh, and follow @adairytale to find out what’s going on in these photos. The big adventures in a small Midwestern town continue this fall, but until then we post lots of cute cow photos so of course you’ll want to follow. ⁣
