This is not a post about physically outgrowing a fall jacket. It’s a post about life from a year or two ago just no longer feeling like it fits.
We’ve all been through a pandemic. We’re all emerging out of it. Some things about our old lives will fit. Some won’t.
Maybe we can just keep going, sort of ignoring the parts that don’t fit. But maybe so much of it doesn’t fit that we need to make a change.
Our tendency is to try and make it work, and to not really examine our calling or purpose or life direction until it REALLY doesn’t fit. All of a sudden (but actually not so suddenly … ) A CHANGE MUST HAPPEN NOW OR YOU FEEL LIKE YOU’LL SUFFOCATE.
Big life changes don’t need to be dramatic when we set aside regular time to assess our lives and listen for where God is calling.
That’s what I do. I meet with people one on one or in groups and talk about where they feel called, and whether it’s time to move on.
