Online worship is here to stay.

Last March, you probably did what most congregations did: made a quick plan to hold online services the first Sunday after the shutdown.

First of all, give yourself some credit for making it happen, and then CONTINUING to make it happen, week after week.

Now that it's gone on so long, it's not a temporary filler. It's the way we're doing ministry. Creating an engaging online worship experience will continue to be vital, even after we're all gathering in person again.

Get started with an online worship consultation

Online Worship Consultation is for you if you:

  • Are committed to making online worship an ongoing ministry, not just a pandemic anomaly.
  • Have a sense of the possibilities and opportunities for the Holy Spirit to work in new ways through this format.
  • Believe that it's not just about having the right technology. It's also about how we use the technology to build community.

By improving the online worship experience you can:

Reinforce faith formation in families of all shapes and sizes.

Deepen fellowship between existing members and with new members.

Increase peoples' stewardship of time, talents, and offering.

I'll meet with you for 90 minutes on Zoom to talk about:

  • How to engage better with the camera. (We'll try it, right there on Zoom.)
  • Ideas to increase interaction, within your church's tradition and scope.
  • Setting up the "shot" so that the online audience has the best possible experience.
  • How to structure volunteer positions that support online worship.

We can also refer you to talk more "tech" with a qualified church media company upon request.

Ready to get started? Here's how.

  • Sign up using the button below. You can choose whether to have me watch some of your online worship first (more specific) or just set up a conversation without first viewing your worship service (more economical.)
  • You'll be sent to a page where you can share links for up to 3 services.
  • You'll choose a time within the next 45 days (or as soon as next week!) to gather on Zoom for your individualized worship consultation.

Hi! I'm Dawn Trautman, your new online worship consultant.

Here are a few things to know about me:

  • National Board Certified Life Coach in business for sixteen years coaching ministry leaders, church-adjacent business owners, and content creators such as writers.
  • Sunday School Christmas Program Enthusiast. It's my favorite church holiday. I know it's not an official part of the liturgical calendar, but it is to me.
  • Professional union actor with experience on stage and screen.
  • Producer of a 3-season web series called "A Dairy Tale" that has been featured on local affiliates of ABC, NBC, and NPR.
  • Creative Director of the MainStage team at a national Lutheran event called the ELCA Youth and Children's Ministry Extravaganza. We design large-scale events and worship experiences.
  • Social Media Community Manager for a mid-sized, woman-owned online business on the Forbes list of fastest growing businesses. It basically means I know how to help people who join an online program feel deeply connected.
  • Member of a small urban church in New York City, and previously served two large churches in the suburbs of St. Paul, MN.

I have enjoyed working with leaders at these and other institutions:

I look forward to getting to know you better, but for now, here's that link to get started.
